And I have an irrational fear of my neck getting snapped, resulting in me being a quadriplegic.
But having a kink in your neck for a few weeks where you can roll the muscle/tendon/ligament/whichever it is back and forth along your neck isn't fun. Plus if I roll my head around to stretch it there's all sorts of snap crackles and pops. I mean, FFS I turn 28 in a week. Is this a telling of things to come?!
And I feel like a terrible Oppo. It's been nearly 2 weeks since the Stringbean has been driven. Provided I have full working use of at least 1 arm and 1 leg after my appointment I will be taking the Bean out for some much needed driving.
See, even made her cry.
(old pic, it'll be a pleasant 65 today)

Chiropractors can do some pretty amazing things- I had some serious scar tissue in my shoulder from an unknown injury in middle school, and a regular chiropractic appointment fixed everything with no other PT or surgery.
Just don't buy into the ideas of spinal alignment being used to cure illnesses...there is some weirdness underlying the practice.

It's a terrifying thing to think about! You really do have to completely relax and trust them to get the must out of the way they manipulate your body to align and provide relief. You'll feel balanced. Neck pain is a terrible nuisance.

Yeah I always figured there had to be a business-oriented root to it all. If a quick snap and twist cured someone with one go then I'd be out of business. However if I can get them coming back ever other week... Profit!

Chiropractic is like a really financially solid investment adviser who has a weird tic about the silver standard. His help is likely to be quite good, but there's a zone of unreality that should not be explored.

"relax, if you don't or I screw up you're a potato"
and trust, the neck pain is a major issue when it turns into headaches and screws up my studies.

No doubt. Prolonged neck pain can cause depression. It's a monster.

After numerous so-so experiences with traditional docs and chiropractors I got one of these things. Looks wacky, but it works. Docs were saying I needed surgery to fuse vertebrate which would limit how much I could turn my head, and might make things worse, chiropractors were saying I'd need to be in their office every week till I died. Screw em both...pain free and no more arm numbness going on 3 years now.

Chiropractic is defined as a type of "Alternative Medicine". Alternative Medicine is any type of treatment that proclaims to have the healing effects of Medicine, but does not rely on evidence gathered by the scientific method.
In trials, Chiropractic does show some, albeit limited, ability to treat back pain, but it is no more effective than a Deep Tissue massage. Massages, however, have a significantly lower risk of permanent nerve/spinal damage.
If you have a persistent pain in your neck, I would recommend a visit to a real doctor.
